Are you a man who is suffering from weakening erections, penile shortening or curvature?

Low intensity shockwave therapy (LisT) is a groundbreaking “drug and surgery-free” procedure that uses electromagnetic waves to stimulate a cascade of biological actions that lead to the healing, regeneration and Increasing blood flow to the penis.

  • Clinical term for shockwave therapy is low-intensity shockwave therapy (LiSWT)
  • Erections rely on healthy blood flow to the penile tissue. Shockwave therapy is viewed favorably as a way of repairing and strengthening blood vessels in the penis and improving blood flow.
  • Increasing blood flow to the penis is the same goal of more traditional ED treatments, such as oral medications, including sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis).
  • The pulses trigger improved blood flow and tissue remodeling in the penis,
  • These changes can lead to erections sufficient for sex.
  • No anesthesia is needed.
  • Stronger, firmer erections
  • Increased sensitivity in the penis
  • Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e., improved sexual stamina)
  • Increased penile length and girth
  • Greater self-esteem
  • Improvement in or resolution of penile curvature & pain from Peyronie’s Disease
  • Resolution of penile pain with erection
  • Better overall blood flow to the penis shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy (LiST) falls under the field of regenerative medicine, which deals with the process of replacing, engineering or regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function. It is a non-invasive treatment which stimulates tissue repair and cellular regeneration. LiST results in recruitment of platelets and the subsequent release of growth factors & proteins which in turn activate stems cells and stimulate cellular repair and regeneration wherever they are applied in the body. In addition, collagen production and the formation of new blood vessels occurs and further aids in tissue repair.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a therapy that involves the injection of a person’s own growth factors to stimulate tissue healing. Both PRP and LiST work by similar means, but LiST takes the process back one step and stimulates platelet activation as opposed to extracting platelets from one’s blood and injecting them directly where the cellular repair is needed.

At Born Again Doctor Medical Center, physicians have devised an extensive treatment plan that is customized for specifically for each individual that walks through our doors. No one treatment type is optimal for every patient, thus, PRP is also often used in conjuction with LiST in patients who may benefit from both as they have a known additive effect. Ask us if you are a candidate for PRP as well as LiST.

LiST is an in-office procedure that usually takes under 30 minutes. There is no recovery period or major restrictions and all patients may resume their usual activities soon after on the same day.

Though the treatment does not require any special after care, for men looking to achieve optimal results, we strongly encourage the use of a Vacuum Erection Device (VED) in the weeks following LiST. This is usually done twice daily. It requires only a few minutes of your time

You may resume sexual activity about 4 hours after procedure on the same day.

Only minor potential side effects may occur. These include minor bleeding or bruising, swelling, and very rarely infection. You MUST notify your doctor if you are taking aspirin or blood thinners as these must be held prior to treatment.

A vacuum constriction device (VCD) is an external pump with a band on it that a man with erectile dysfunction can use to get and maintain an erection.

The VCD consists of an acrylic cylinder with a pump that may be attached directly to the end of the penis. A constriction ring or band is placed on the cylinder at the other end, which is applied to the body. The cylinder and pump are used to create a vacuum to help the penis become erect; the band or constriction ring is used to help maintain the erection.
