tage 1:

Peri-Menopause

Begins in a woman’s 40s-50s when the ovaries start producing less estrogen and estrogen levels fluctuate. This time can last anywhere from 2-8 years, and symptoms include irregular periods, insomnia, night sweats, hot flashes, mood disorders, depression, weight gain, hair becoming brittle and more.

Stage 2:

Menopause

A woman is diagnosed with menopause after she has without a period for 12 consecutive months. Technically, menopause exists as one day, the time after a woman has not had a period for 12 months is considered post-menopause

Stage 3:

Post-Menopause

The time of life after menopause. Symptoms experienced during the menopause transition may continue. Postmenopausal women may experience a waning of symptoms over time but due to low levels of estrogen may be at increased risk for diseases like osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, certain cancers, and more.
WOMEN with Symptoms of Hormone Imbalance may be experiencing:

⦁ vaginal dryness
⦁ Night Sweats
⦁ Bone loss
⦁ Breast tenderness
⦁ Depression
⦁ Chronic fatigue
⦁ Cold hands & feet
⦁ Low or NO Sex drive
⦁ Mood swings
⦁ Sleep issues
⦁ Thinning or Brittle hair

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, or BHRT, may help overcome hormone deficiencies and hormone imbalances at any age. Female hormone replacement therapy may benefit individuals in the pursuit of relief from the symptoms of hormone imbalance, and these hormones are administered to patients using pellets. Hormone pellets are placed in the upper buttock in an outpatient procedure, less than a week later, patients can return to their regular activities. BHRT may return hormone balance to the body and relieve symptoms.

Pellets are compounded estradiol or testosterone that are made from organic plant materials, which have the exact molecular structure of those hormones found in the body. They are pressed into a solid compound that is about the size of a cooked grain of rice. Using a painless office procedure, they are inserted under the skin in the hip area. The pellets release small amounts of hormone directly into the bloodstream similar to that which the ovaries and testes produced during our younger adult years.

Pellets deliver a consistent level of hormone into the bloodstream, avoiding the fluctuations that occur when using creams, pills or patches. The direct delivery into the bloodstream avoids changes in the liver seen with oral hormone therapy and eliminates production of increased clotting factors. In women, the pellets last 3 to 5 months; in men, 4 to 6 months

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) has many benefits. The hormones within BHRT pellets are structurally the same as the hormones found within the body. Another benefit of hormone therapy is that the pellets remain within the body and consistently provide the dosing that the body requires.

Estrogen taken as hormone therapy during menopause can be beneficial. The hormone is prescribed to relieve:

⦁ Hot flashes
⦁ Vaginal dryness that can result in painful intercourse
⦁ Other problematic symptoms of menopause, such as night sweats and dry, itchy skin
⦁ Reduced risk of developing osteoporosis and reduced risk of bone breakage
⦁ Improvement of mood and overall sense of mental well-being in some women
⦁ Decreased tooth loss
⦁ Lowered risk of colon cancer
